My name is Sharon and along with my daughter, Soraya, we formed Simply Soraya Skincare when we were looking for natural beauty and kid products that didn’t contain chemicals.
Once we started looking at skincare labels, it was quite scary all the things that are included. We couldn’t believe this could be good for us so we made a pledge to go chemical free and all natural when it comes to products for our skin.
This lead us on our journey to making our own.
Enter lots of lockdowns here in Melbourne and we took the opportunity to get busy trying out recipes and making our own products for us, our friends and family. I also completed a Certificate in Making Natural Skincare Products from the School of Natural Skincare in the UK so I could learn more and perfect my craft.
Part of the fun has always been creating our own labels, branding and coming up with something professional that was so much fun to share with others.
Thus, Simply Soraya was born. Not only can we share our products with our friends, but also with you with our free and easy (and NATURAL!) skincare recipes.
But the best bit has to be how good using our own products feels. My skin has honestly never felt so good and I just love using skincare products in a way I never have before.
We’ve been doing this for four years now, and we can’t get enough. I particularly love making foot balm, face cream and turkish delight lip balm because I love using them so much. I am also an avid user of this sugar scrub among many other items on this site.
As someone who was already a professional blogger in Malaysian travel, I couldn’t help but want to start this blog to share this journey and to help others. I hope you find all my recipes and products useful.
While it’s not hard to find recipes to make skincare products online, it is hard to find Australian voices that are willing to share everything they know and help others in this journey. I hope to give you that here.
Most of all, I hope to give you the confidence to make your own natural products. It’s surprisingly easy and lots of fun. Even my 5 year old son loves making bath bombs and lip balms for his friends and whether you have kids or not, there are plenty of recipes here you are going to love.
So give it a go! I promise, you’ll love the results!!
